Terms & Policies
Customer Care
JDS prides itself on excellent customer service and product quality. Each item is hand inspected for quality prior to being shipped to you. If you are unsure about a product's look, weight or quality, please feel free to order one without personalization to review prior to placing a large order, or better yet, order a pre-personalized sample for your store at 30% off your low wholesale price. Rush Shipping
If you have a customer in need of a product fast, you can offer to place a RUSH on the order. Your Engravable Gift Order will ship within 24 business hours from order receipt if received by 2 p.m. CST. Your Candle or Favor order will ship within 3 business days of order receipt if received by 2 p.m. CST. A RUSH fee must be indicated on the order (example: $15.00 rush fee ok, check rush fee on order form or see rush fee option on-line). If you put RUSH on your order, you WILL be charged the fee and your order will be expedited. This will expedite processing time only. Please upgrade shipping as well if needed.
Taking an Engravable Order
To place an Engravable Gift order you will need the following:
- Wedding/Event date and need by date (as reference only, orders may arrive after event date unless otherwise upgraded)
- Account Number
- Shipping information (1. JDS ships via UPS only 2. JDS does not ship to PO Boxes or Military Addresses)
- Standard - Ground UPS
- 3 day select
- 2nd day air
- Overnight
- Item number & quantity. Be sure you are using the correct product code, descriptions are not used.
- Personalization information: Keep in mind, JDS cannot be responsible for misread materials. As a rule: when in doubt, call Customer Care (800-972-3691) for clarification.
- Carefully verify all information and have your customer sign off on the order as personalized merchandise is not available for credit or exchange.
- Make sure orders are placed 3-4 weeks in advance. If needed sooner, shipping upgrade and/or a RUSH ($15 fee) is advised. Rush fee ($15.00) will ship your Engraved Gift order within 24 business hours.
Taking a Candle/Favor Order
To place a candle or favor order you will need the following:
- Wedding/Event Date and need by date (as reference only, orders may arrive after event date unless otherwise upgraded)
- Shipping Information (1. JDS ships via UPS only 2. JDS does not ship to PO Boxes or Military Addresses)

- Choose: Image wanted (13 choices for candles and 9 choices for favors).
- Choose: Candle Color (White or Ivory); Choose: Ink Color (Silver, Gold or Black); Choose: Band Color (Silver or Gold).
- Bride & Groom's name (first names only, brides name will always go first unless specified otherwise).
- Wedding date to be printed on candle (date will appear in the traditional; Month, Day, Year style).
- The Memorial Candle will accommodate up to three lines of name(s), character limit is 21 per line.
- The Second Marriage Unity Candle will accommodate the names of six children (first names only-21 characters per line).
- Carefully verify all information and have customer sign off on the order as personalized merchandise is not available for credit or exchange.
- Make sure orders are placed 3-4 weeks in advance. If needed sooner, shipping upgrade and/or a RUSH ($15 fee) is advised. Rush fee will ship your Candle or Favor order within 2-3 business days. Regular Candle/Favors production is 5-6 days.
Engraving and Font Information
Items will be engraved exactly as requested including upper and lower case letters. Please enter and review your personalization carefully. All personalization is done in the font style as pictured. We do not make font changes. Here are some guidelines for personalization: Enter personalization as you would like it to appear with capital letters, lower case letters, number punctuation and characters such as &, @, " or *. Please refer to the product image and/or price list for a sample of the personalization, font name, style type as well as line and character limits and product dimensions.
Monograms
If you would like a Monogram, please clearly specify "Monogram" and provide the initials in this order: First Name initial, Last Name initial, Middle Name initial. We will not change the order of the initials. Example: The monogram for Thomas Allen Peterson will be TPA. JDS will produce the MONOGRAM exactly as you have entered it in the font shown for the item ordered. What is a Three Letter Monogram?
Change Fee
Once your order is received, it will be considered "in processing" as we process our orders very quickly. Once your order is in processing, any changes to your order will incur a change fee of $25.00 per order. Charges include but are not limited to product, address, ship type, added fees, product additions, gift messages, etc.

Order Processing and Fulfillment
We ship all engravable gift items within 2-3 business days for in-stock merchandise. We will ship all candle and favor items within 5 business days. Although our production team can accommodate most circumstances, please place orders as far in advance as possible to avoid a rush fee ($15.00). All orders ship via UPS Ground unless a shipping upgrade is specified. Please Note: Candle and Favor orders will ship separately from Engravable Gift Orders. JDS requires you to use our order form or a format in which all necessary information for processing your order will be present. JDS cannot be responsible for missing information if left off the order.
Returns/Exchanges/Damages
We stand behind our products and are proud to offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee on any defective or damaged merchandise. Our guarantee includes exchanges only. No refunds are available on personalized items. Items without personalization may incur a restocking fee. Please inspect goods IMMEDIATELY. Any defects or damages MUST be reported within 7 business days of delivery date. No exceptions.
Please keep in mind, PERSONALIZED merchandise cannot be returned or exchanged. Dated items cannot be returned or exchanged for any reason after event date, regardless if they are defective or damaged, as JDS cannot be responsible for the use of the merchandise. Any defective or damaged merchandise you wish to exchange must have an RA NUMBER before returning. JDS will gladly reimburse return shipment costs of authorized exchanges/returns (non-personalized merchandise returned for credit will not qualify for shipping reimbursement). Express shipping costs will not be reimbursed; only ground services will be reimbursed. JDS will pay to ship authorized replacements via UPS Ground service only. Please place your gift order at least 3 weeks prior to event date; this will help alleviate rush shipping charges ($15).
If you need to exchange an item due to defects or damages, please follow the instructions below:
- Was the shipping container damaged? If so, you will need to keep the original shipping container for a possible claim to be made with the shipper.
- Call 1-800-972-3691 and ask to speak to the returns department to discuss your options and to receive your RA#.
- Place the RA# given (return authorization number) on the outside of the box you are returning so it can be seen clearly by the returns department in our offices. PLEASE NOTE: Any package arriving without a return authorization number clearly written on the exterior of the package will be returned to sender at the cost of the sender.
- Be sure the item you are returning for inspection is packaged properly as JDS is not responsible for further damages due to improper return packaging. Items returned with insufficient packaging will be refused and returned at the cost of the sender.
- You are encouraged to ship your return via a track-able source as JDS cannot be responsible for merchandise lost in transit.
Payment Terms
- JDS accepts all major credit cards. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
- If terms are desired you can apply for: Net 10 terms upon approved credit. Inquire to customer service or on-line for credit application. Invoices will be mailed twice a week to all Net 10 customers.
- If credit has not been established, orders will be shipped COD company check without notice.
